Requirements
Learners must be 16+ and bring along valid ID (Passport, Driving license or ID card) along with National Insurance and Proof of Address.

About
The Industry Common Induction (ICI) provides staff with a health and safety induction for working in construction sites, rail depots and station maintenance. Network Rail has developed it, in partnership with ISLG (Infrastructure Safety Liaison Group) and RIAG (Rail Infrastructure Assurance Group). It covers the safety procedures and risks that are common across the rail industry, whatever the role and type of site.
Who Is The Course Suitable For?
This assessment is recommended for all personnel who will be working within a Network Rail site. The ICI competence is mandatory for any operative accessing a Network Rail Infrastructure Project site.
Course Objectives
- Because all workers have had the ICI, their site-specific inductions can focus on the risks and hazards that are particular to the job they are doing and the place where they are working.
- The knowledge testing makes sure the induction has been understood.
- There is re-certification every 60 months to make sure knowledge is kept up-to-date.
- There are clear records of the whole workforce, trackside and non-trackside.
Additional Information
- Before attending the ICI Assessment, it is recommended to complete the ICI E-Learning. It is the sponsor’s responsibility to create the login details to the E-Learning system and register the candidate for ICI.
