This Privacy Policy explains how Cheshire IT Training Centre Ltd ("CITTC", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use our website or services. We are committed to protecting your privacy in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email, password), booking a course (name, phone, email, payment details), or contacting us. We also automatically collect usage data such as pages visited, device type, and IP address via cookies and similar technologies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to: process course bookings and payments; send booking confirmations, certificates and course materials; provide you with account access to your dashboard; communicate course updates or relevant training news (with your consent); improve our website and services; and comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing Your Data
We do not sell your data. We share it only with: payment processors (Stripe) to handle transactions securely; our email provider to send transactional emails; CITB and awarding bodies where required to issue your qualification; and law enforcement or regulatory bodies if required by law. All third-party processors are bound by data processing agreements.
4. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary. Account data is kept while your account is active plus 3 years. Booking and qualification records are kept for 7 years to comply with HMRC and awarding body requirements. You may request deletion of non-essential data at any time.
5. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access the data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion ('right to be forgotten'); restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. 7. Security
We implement technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and regular security reviews. No transmission over the internet is 100% secure — if you believe your data has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@cheshireittc.co.uk.
